Dec. 13: Today we walked to the Roman history museum of Lyon. Lyon was the biggest Roman city in France and was started in 43 BC. The museum was right next to two huge Roman theatres we walked around. Inside they had some mimi films, and lots of artefacts. I liked the jewlery because they used lots of gems and gold. The small glass bottles they had to keep oils and make-up in was my favourite part. For dinner mum and dad went out while I got another bagel. its time for us to say by now have a nice day!

Dec. 12:
Today started off with the Roman History Museum in Girona.  I liked the museum set up with rooms made to looks like you were living in that time. You could walk thru the bakery and in a villa and sit on public "social" toilets. I also liked the outfits they wore. There was a section on burial and how you could choose were you wanted to get buried.
Then we were on the train for six hours. I read a really good book and did homework the whole time. Now we are in Lyon and it is really cold and I am so tried. Good night.

Girona to Lyon

Dec. 11: GREAT, HAPPY, EXITING, WONDERFUL, FUN, DAY OF BIRTH FOIR MUMMA PERKINS.
 Today is the big day! its mummy's birthday ! ! ! ! first we did the presents (I got her the hat she is warning in the photo bellow) We drove to the next destination which is Girona. We went for a b-day dinner and stuffed our selves silly It is three minuts to one A.M so sorry fro the short bloG good night. Now a few words from daddy. Before we left Barcelona, Meiko and I poked into an exhibit on El Bulli which was widely considered the best restaurant in the world for most of our lives. Our drive to Girona was just over an hour and we did a little tour of the city including the cathedral which has the widest nave next to St. Peter's and was very profound. To celebrate Meiko's 40ith we dined at El Cell de Can Roca, which is now widely considered the second best restaurant in the world and we are not complaining.

Dec 10: Today we went to the Sagrada Familia church designed by Gaudi in 1914. I loved the Sagrada Familia it was so mezmerizing and different from any other church we had ever seen. They are aiming to complete in 2028 but it has been a hundred years so far. It seemed like it was not even half way done and it was going to need a tone of repairs anyway. There was so much space and they even had a smaller church underneth the main building. It was one of his masterpieces. Then I went home for the rest of the day to do home work and relax while dad went off to see the tower by Jean Nouvel. Bye

Dec. 9: Today it was Sunday, we started off by going to the shoe museum. The shoe museum had shoes from sandals to wedding shoes, old shoes to new shoes. It was a small place but I thought it was good. My favourite shoe was the clown shoes they were huge at the toe and normal at the heel. Then we to church at the Gotic cathedral and it was such a crowd when trying to leave. The church was a nice size and right in the middle of it there was a choir.
Then we went to the Picasso Museum. At the museum there were a number of interesting painting especially from his earliest works around the year 1900. There was one series that stood out which was a study Picasso did of a painting by Velazqeez called Las Meninas. Valazquez painted Las Meninas in 1656 and we saw it in Madrid at the Prado museum, the same place where Picasso, since he was 14, would go and study.
Then we went to another of Gaudi's apartment buildings. I think I am starting to warm up to his designs. Then we were home until dinner were we went out to a pizzeria, not the best but good service. Good night every one and bye!!!

Dec. 8: Today was tiring with a long walk to start going to see the Sagarada Famiglia by Gaudi who we saw a couple blogs ago. We walked around the church but decided to come back Monday cause the line was too long. We then went to the Barcelona history museum and saw the Roman ruins. Barcelona was started as a little Roman outpost in 12 BC. At the end of the museum was a show on the history of film and we saw the very first movie projector. In the evening we went to see the Magic fountain show and stopped by the Barcelona Pavilion by Mies Van der Rohe.
