Feb. 23: We got off the boat and that was really sad. Dad, Aldo, Mum, Mimi and me all got in the car and had a fun and squishy ride to Rome. Once we got there we went to our hotel and then out again for a coffee. After the coffee we went too see a couple museums. The interactive Leonardo Da Vinci Museum was lots of fun. Then we went for a nice dinner with Mimi and Aldo. After dinner I was really tired so I went to bed and missed Mimi and Aldo leaving for Vancouver. I was really sad in the morning when I woke up and they were gone.

Feb. 24: We went out hoping to go for church at the Vatican but the Pope was doing his last blessing and there were 100,000 people and on the way out we got intervened by BBC news. Then we went home to do some work and didn't leave till 6:00 to go to mass then dinner. Bye

  1. I agree with Elena's comments regarding memories of places we've visited. You should ask Daddy about the Piazza Minerva. He did a very nice drawing of the sculpture there many years ago. Elena and I stayed in a small hotel just off the Piazza de Fiori. The piazza was very interesting because it completely transformed from night to day from restaurants to market. And the Campo Navonne was very cool. I have a favorite leather bag I purchased just before the entry to the space. And we too managed to catch the previous pope at his window. A memorable thing about that Roman visit was we got on a shuttle bus at the end of the end of visiting the Sistine Chapel, that wound around thru the back gardens of the Vatican to drop us of at the main Basilica.

  2. Being blessed by the pope is wonderful. Your pictures of the Vatican and Rome bring back fond memories for us of our trip there. However, we were not able to see the pope as we were not there at the right time. Is your dad planning on getting a Da Vinci bike for racing? It's so nice to read your blogs again.
    Love, Nanu and Gung-Gung.
