June 4: Today we went to Oslo Norway which is a small city near Copenhagen. We did our own little tour that started out with taking a boat to the viking museum. The museum was very cool. Did you know the Vikings were based here and dominated Europe for about 250 years starting around 800AD? We saw 3 ships that were found in burial mounds. One of the mounds was for a queen which also held her maid and 12 horses as well as other things the queen might use in her afterlife. In another burial mound for a chieftain they found 12 horses, 6 dogs and a peacock. After that we went to a sculpture park by Gustov Vigeland then a contemporary art museum by Renzo Piano - liked the building but not the art. For lunch we met Ingrid, a friend from Vancouver that moved to Oslo years ago. Ingrid was fun and nice to be around. After lunch Ingrid took us on the roof of the Opera house and then we went to the museum holding the Scream, one on Edvard Munch’s most known pieces. After that we went back to the boat. At the boat I went to the kids club, and met a new friend, Enrike. The last thing we did was go to a comedy. It was so funny.
