June 9: St. Petersburg day 1; We took a tour of the city led by Nicole and the first place we stopped at was The Hermitage museum of art. It had so much art Nicole said if you spent 1 minute in front of each piece it would take 8 years to finish. We saw the church of St. Isaic. Later we went to the onion domed Church of the Spilled Blood, named because Alexander II died on the spot after a bomb was thrown at his carriage, the walls of the church were built up around it. The church was filled with glittering mosaics. The last thing we did on our tour was take a trip on the Metro. The metro was very deep but nice and orderly. To end our day we saw Swan Lake, by a Russian ballet company.  I didn’t really like the ballet, mostly because I have seen Swan Lake a million times but I would not go as far as calling it Swan Puddle.
