March 2&3: Today We drove all day except for the over night ferry. We stopped on our way out of rome to visit the catacombs. At the catacombs there were a lot of sheep eating and sleeping in a field. Then we went to a big palace, but I think they all look somewhat the same. Then we were on the ferry from Naples to Palermo. Then next day we drove out of the boat in Palermo and had breakfast, and went to church. Palermo was ok but we went off to our next stop by the beach. We are here for a week so more to come. Bye.
Drive Rome to Naples
Ferry to Palermo
Drive to Sciacca
Isa says you tell him dad - so here dad goes: We did not really walk around Palermo although the city had some pretty interesting history with Greek, Roman, Arab and even Norman rule before becoming the capitol of the Italian provence of Sicily. We are now on the south coast of Sicily in one of the few places open in the off season. Sunny and warm enough to sun bath when out of the sun I can't call it real "off".
Please tell us more about Palermo and the beach area. It does look cold and windy but nice and sunny and before the tourist season
