March 25: Today we drove forty five minuets to get to Pompeii. Once we got there we had about ten minutes to drop off our stuff and get ready to go to Herculaneum. Herculaneum was an ancient Roman town, that was destroyed by volcanic ash in seventy nine A.D. Herculaneum is most famous for being blown to smithereens along with Pompeii, Stabiae, Boscoreal, and Oplontis when mount Vesuvius erupted. The town (unlike pompeii) was buried so deep that the buildings upper stories are still in tacked, and the hotter ash preserved wooden house hold objects (and even food). The excavators found some of three hundred skeletons by the sea shore. At the end of our visit we saw one of the cutest cats, it was happy to eat our Temptation treats. Once we were done in Herculaneum we came home and I was so hungry we stopped at McDonalds, and brought it home. Then mum and dad went out for dinner. Good bye and Good night.

  1. Pompei is pretty cool but I enjoyed our Herculaneum visit more. I don't think that there was an audio guide for tourists back when we visited.

  2. We visited Herculaneum in 2010 and found it very interesting. The pizza counter is very cute. It would have been nice if you could order a pizza there. The plumbing system was very interesting also.

  3. We had a guided tour at Herculaneum and the guide explained a lot about life at that time. Did you take a guided tour?
